Terrain-induced Rotor Experiment
March-April, 2006, Owens Valley, CA
NCAR / EOL deployed three Integrated
Sounding Systems ISS near
Independence in the Owens Valley, California for the T-REX (Terrain-induced
Rotor Experiment) being organized by Desert Research Institute of Reno,
Nevada. The project will run through March and April of 2006. A
pilot project called Sierra Rotors
was run in the same area in the spring of 2004.
