HIPPO III: Research Flight 11 - Alaska to Colorado

April 16, 2010

The pre-flight preparation notice had this to say about the day's flight from Alaska to Colorado:

"Power and access to the GV at 0800, take off at 1000, estimated duration 6 hours. The flight will be at cruise altitude with one low approach at Watson Lake. The first half of the flight will be at or below the tropopause level (35-37,000 ft) and the second will be at cruise altitude (43,000 ft). Estimated flight duration 6 hours."

The flight went as planned, and the HIPPO Team arrived back in Colorado after completing yet another successful HIPPO campaign. The team was looking forward to settling back into their daily routine after spending close to a month hopping from time-zone to time-zone. Welcome back HIPPO Team!
