The ELDORA radar and SABL lidar on the NCAR Electra aircraft flying snow, ice and rain in Indiana, Michigan,

and over Lake Michigan. The plane was hangared at Willow Run Airport, east of Detroit.

The SABL lidar was located in the forward cargo compartment. Using a turning mirror it looked down during flights.
