Cabin Temperature at ADS Rack Location

Short Name or Variable Name
TCAB

  • The temperature in the cabin of research aircraft operated by the NCAR/EOL Research Aviation Facility is controlled by heaters and air conditioners to maintain comfortable conditions for passengers. Within limits, this temperature is under the control of the flight crew, so the temperature may vary during flights and in different projects. As an aid in detecting problems with instruments associated with the temperature of those instruments, the temperature in the cabin is measured using an analog sensor with calibration coefficients (recorded in the data files and records), but that measurement is not a very good representation of the condition of various instruments because the temperature usually varies significantly in different parts of the cabin.
