PREAMBLE 2012

The Precision Atmospheric Marine Boundary Layer Experiment was conducted in spring of 2012 to measure wind field dynamics off the California coast. The Wyoming Air King aircraft was used to take detailed measurements within the Marine Boundary Layer's horizontal pressure field. The Weather Research and Forecasting Model was used to analyze the data and revealed large-amplitude height-perturbations, and offshore flow was central to the local forcing.
