PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment (GEWEX) Continental-scale International Project (GCIP) Enhanced Seasonal Observing Period - 1995 (ESOP-95) takes place in the Arkansas-Red River basins as a data collection effort in a Large-Scale Area (LSA) of the entire Mississippi River basin. The Arkansas and Red River basins provide a number of watershed areas that are potentionally useful for hydrologic focussed studies. The ESOP-95 Data Set constitutes the fourth in a series of GCIP Initial Data Sets (GIDS-4).

Objectives:

(1) Demonstrate to the satisfaction of the scientific community, the adequacy of a GCIP data collection and management system for an initial set of diagnostic, evaluation, and modeling studies

(2) Rectify any data system modifications identified in time for providing the services needed during the Enhanced Observing Period.
