LAS

Laser Absorption Spectroscopy

PROJECT DATES
01/19/1981 - 02/09/1981
Project Location
Jefferson County Airport (Rocky Mountain Airport), Colorado
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Laser Absorption Spectroscopy (LAS) project focused on testing the usefulness of tunable laser absorption spectroscopy for the measurement of atmospheric trace gases. Dr. William Mankin flew a tunable infrared diode laser and a small white absorption cell on the Sabreliner, Model 60 to measure carbon monoxide (CO) fluxes using the meteorological correlation method.
