Fast T cal for t.10m.flux and t.15m.flux:
Since fun.plot.prep was not running
at the time, the calibration was done the
old fashion way with cshow.
T.10m.flux:
Gain factor = (50/32768) * (5/4.978) = .0015326224
t.15m.flux:
Gain factor = (50/32768) * (5/4.98375) = .0015308542

t.10m.flux disconnected temporarily
While playing with the sonic (see previous message), I disconnected
the fast T. After the sonic work, I replaced the probe and gave
the bridge a cal. cycle with both switch positions for 5 seconds.
Note that I may do this again if I decide to pull the array completely
down.
- 301: FASTT /none Fri 09-Sep-1994 18:09:41 GMT AIR 15 m fast T died last night
The heavy rains seem to have busted the 15 m platinum probe last
night after 09 GMT.
- 304: FASTT /none Sat 10-Sep-1994 03:35:14 GMT t.15m.flux sensor replaced 0133 GMT
Replaced the fast T sensor on the flux tower
at 0133 GMT. I didn't hang around to adjust
the calibration since it began raining
heavily, although I did cycle the
gain calibration several times. This
data can be found in the period
JD 253 01:33:30 to JD 253 01:36:30.
It turns out that the gain calibration is
as close as we could get it. Used fast
data to check gain calibration,
which showed the 5 deg offset to be
within a few hundreths of a degree.
Note added later by Gordon Maclean Sept 23: The data
indicates that the foam chamber was not installed
during this calibration.
- 361: FASTT /none Fri 23-Sep-1994 00:47:33 GMT Sonic and fast T calibrations
Put zero wind tubes on the sonics and ran throught the calibration on
the fast T's at 10m and 15m.
10m sonic zeroes: 4:48-4:55 pm PDT
10m fast T cals: 4:59-5:01 pm PDT (using foam chamber)
results: 9 gain switches, mean difference: 5.0377, sd: .01108
gain: 0.0015144
15m sonic zeroes: 5:36-5:41 pm PDT
15m fast T cals: 5:44-5:45 pm PDT (foam chamber)
results: 11 gain switches: mean diff: 5.20956, sd: 0.01255
gain: 0.0014655
A cal of the t.15m.flux was done on day 253 without the foam
chamber. See logbook entry 304. We'll use this new cal
since the amplitude of the jumps is easier to determine.
