115: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Wed 28-Apr-2004 15:04:29 GMT, profiler turned off for data backup, about 20 minutes
from approx. 1445 - 1505.
88: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Tue 06-Apr-2004 22:22:20 GMT, x+W25 and x-E37 beam angles corrected
x+W25 and x-E37 beam angles swapped to correct wind direction problem
on MISS profiler.

Correct angles are: x+W25 = 138 and x-E37 = 318.
They were previously incorrect because the labels of the sides of the
antenna with respect to the trailer were recorded on the little cheat-sheet
incorrectly.

Anyway, problem solved by Bill (on phone in Boulder) with Shane on site.
Note: correct data being collected starting at 22:13 UT on 6 April 2004.
41: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Tue 16-Mar-2004 23:35:46 GMT, RASS off
RASS off 2130 to 2330 (apart from run 2230) during repairs to surface station.
36: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Mon 15-Mar-2004 04:21:18 GMT, Mode change to clr_105
March 15 0415 UT

Changed mode to clr_105.par for tonights IOP.
Also updated angles using Pop par mod

Some birds.

23: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Sun 07-Mar-2004 23:23:21 GMT, Profiler up/down during 21:30-22:30Z March 7
Profiler serial moments stopped at 21:30 becasue ISS pc was rebooted. Then
profiler was paused to examine overnight data (looked fine), and work on
data backup and autostart. Back to normal around 22:30.
19: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Sun 07-Mar-2004 17:07:34 GMT, RASS
RASS was down from approx 3:30pm local time on the 6th til 9:10am on the 7th.
Rass amp was shut down while power cables were switched out. I guess I forgot to restart it when work was completed.
12: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Fri 05-Mar-2004 20:33:33 GMT, Profiler 05-Mar-2003
No profiler data from about 22Z Mar 04 until 20:30 Mar 05. The display computer
was logging numerous messages which filled its disk. The POP PC then could
not transfer moments over the serial line, and it eventually hung. We will
see if there is any data in the SPC files during this time.

11: RADAR, Site MISS IND ARPT, Thu 04-Mar-2004 22:35:53 GMT, Profiler 04-Mar-2003
No profiler (or surface) data from about 02Z to 20Z March 4. What happened
overnight? Would everyone please use the TKLOG?

This morning the profiler cards were replaced with spares and the newer set
of cables was intalled. We expect this to fix the coherent integrator error
("no data received for 6 seconds....").

MISS profiler was changed to run CLR_105 mode for more sensitivity. Also note
that RASS was OFF for the past day (inadvertantly).

7: RADAR, Site MISS Mine, Wed 03-Mar-2004 16:24:20 GMT, Profiler ON March 3
Profiler turned on for IOP#1 16Z March 3 at Old Mine site (Mazurka Canyon Rd)

16:00 Running TURB_105 with 30 min cns and 5 min RASS. Some clutter in all
beams, sometimes up to 1 km. NIMA should help.

18:15Z With surface wind speeds of 10 m/s we are getting clutter in all beams
along with some signal. POP is missing the signal at times so the POP winds
will be low and wrong. I hope NIMA will do better when we can post-process.

From this site there is persistant clutter at 3 km from the Inyo mountains to
the east. Also clutter 1 km, sometimes higher, often lower.

Profiler parmaeter set (TURB_105):105m and NCODE=4;
We don't really need the TURB mode since the spectra are not broad. (I won't
change it during the IOP)

Profiler beam directions/sequence
 xV21 196 90
 y-S26 286 69
 x-W37 16 69
 yv22 106 90
 y+N38 106 69
 x+E29 196 69

At 19Z the surface wind speed dropped ti about 4 m/s and clutter improved.
RASS also greatly improved.

PROFILER OFF at 21:05.
Time to backup, teardown and setup again at the Independence airport.

PROFILER ON at 00:29 at Independence airport. Running CLR_60 mode this time.
We should see how the better resolution does, though less sensitive than 105m.
Angles here are very close to before (first Indy deployment had front
Y+ = 104; Minde deployment at 106; now back at Indy and 103).

Note also that profiler integrator card or cable still fails occasionally.
We installed the replacement cable, and tomorrow will try the spare card.
