115: KRYPTONS, Site OKMN, Mon 13-Jul-1998 16:34:15 CDT, Cleaned OKMN Krypton Hygrometer
At 16:30ish we cleaned the window of the Mesonet Krypton hyrgrometer using a
cotton swab and distilled water. The window was also dried using a swab.
There was small black chips on the cleaning swab.

The previous voltage was approx. 35 mV...we will watch it to see how it varies.

80: SONICS, Site OKMN, Fri 03-Jul-1998 11:07:38 CDT, Deleted OKMN CSAT from covar.config
I had been covaring the CSAT data to compare it to the statistics
calculated by OKMN. These statistics were identical with the exception
of a small offset in tc (tc' statistics were identical), likely caused
by some small difference in the computation of tc from the speed of sound.

Now I have deleted the csat from the covar file again in order to avoid
needlessly duplicating these statistics in the NetCDF file.
75: BASE, Site OKMN, Thu 02-Jul-1998 08:18:36 CDT, How to regenerate OKMN NetCDF data
If you make changes to okmn.q and want to regenerate the data, do:

	cd results/OKMN
	okmn_process 980624.ast

72: SOIL_SENSORS, Site OKMN, Wed 01-Jul-1998 10:31:48 CDT, Changed sign of OKMN Gsoil in okmn.q
It appears from the data that OKMN and NCAR have opposite sign conventions
for Gsoil, so I changed the sign of the OKMN data going into the NetCDF
file.

68: LOG, Site OKMN, Tue 30-Jun-1998 16:46:17 CDT, Added parameters to okmn.q
I edited sfun/OASIS98/okmn.q to add several parameters:

Tcase.out and Tdome.out were missing from the following line in
write.nrad.com:

 for (v in c("Rsw.in","Rsw.out","Tcase.in","Tdome.in",
	       "Tcase.out","Tdome.out","Rpile.in","Rpile.out","Rnet")) {

I changed Tsoil.j and Gsoil.j to be variables 25-28 in NORM:

	"Gsoil.1",              "W/m^2",        # X 5cm heat flux plate
  	"Gsoil.2",              "W/m^2",        # X 5cm heat flux plate
	"Tsoil.1",              "degC",         # X 5cm to surf integ. soil T
	"Tsoil.2",              "degC",         # X 5cm to surf integ. soil T

and added them to write.norm:

  vn <- dimnames(x)[[2]]
  for (v in c("Tsoil.1","Tsoil.2","Gsoil.1","Gsoil.2"))
    if (any(vn==v)) {
      y <- x[,v]
      attr(y,"stations") <- 2
      write.surf(iod,y)
    }
#  y <- x[,"Tsoil.sod.5cm"]
#  dimnames(y)[[2]] <- "Tsoil.1"
#  attr(y,"stations") <- 2
#  write.surf(iod,y)

65: SONICS, Site OKMN, Tue 30-Jun-1998 16:00:17 CDT, Orientation of OKNM CSAT sonic
Steve shot the orientation of the OKMN CSAT sonic:

nominal N/S path 	357d 07m 50s
nominal SW/NE path 	057d 45m 55s
nominal SE/NW path	296d 43m 55s

64: KRYPTONS, Site OKMN, Tue 30-Jun-1998 15:20:41 CDT, OKMN Krypton hygrometer
OKMN is using Krypton hygrometer s/n 1090. The most recent calibration
from Campbell is from 8/97:

Window	-Kw	Dry R	Wet R	INT	PATH	O2 DEN
------------------------------------------------------
SC24HR	0.144	0.148	0.142	2271	1.012	269
CLEAN	0.140	0.139	0.141	3449	1.012	269

I entered Kw, logV0, and X into okmn.q as follows:

write.nbrd <- function(x,lnV0=log(3449),Kw=-0.141,X=1.012)

Gordon,

Here is the information you need, I hope. David put together the list of variables in each table and that is at the end of the email. I ftp'ed a file using the aster account and it worked fine for me.

I hope you find everything in order. Let me know if it is otherwise.

Thanks.

Scott.

Scott,
Please check and forward to Gordon.
Dave

Gordon,
I think we finally have a handle on the data we will be sending to the ASTER facility. There are 4 stations near the ASTER setup from which data needs to be ingested.
These stations and data table names are:
Station    Data Table
NORM       AST05F
NBRD AST05D and AST05E (had to be split up due to record length)
NCOM       NET05A
NRAD       NRAD5LA

The current plan is to write these tables to one file every 15 minutes and make that file available to the ASTER facility via ftp. The file name should be of the format:
YYMMDDhhmm.ast
This file should be available at approximately 8, 23, 38, and 53 minutes after the hour and will contain data from the previous 15 minutes.
Sample files are available via FTP from:
129.15.195.51
Username: aster
Password: Aster  (case sensitive)
