Meteor Crater, Arizona
October, 2006

NCAR / EOL deployed an Integrated Sounding System ISS to the Meteor Crater, Arizona, for the METCRAX Experiment for the month of October, 2006. The experiment is being organized by Drs. Andreas Muschinski (Uni. Massachusetts), C. David Whiteman (Uni.Utah), Sharon Zhong (Michigan State Uni.), and Dave Fritts (Northwest Research Assoc.). The ISS consisted of a UHF boundary layer wind profiler with RASS, radiosonde sounding system, and surface meteorology tower about 3 miles north of the crater and a sodar-RASS about one mile southwest of the crater. The PIs and other groups had a variety of other instruments in and around the crater. (Please see the METCRAX Home Page for more details).
