The Coordinated Mesoscale Measurements in Mississippi (CM3) project will take place in February/March 2011 in the vicinity of Ross Barnett Reservoir in Jackson, Mississippi. Upper level students in a Mesoscale Meteorology course will be introduced to various aspects of radar data processing and analysis using one of the Doppler on Wheels. The scientific interest will be focused on small-scale frontal structures that are passing over heterogeneous landscape including a body of water, turbulent fluxes, nocturnal boundary layer structure and severe storms environment.
