NASA Space Technology Communications Strategies in a Changing World
NASA Headquarters
David Steitz, NASA’s senior public affairs officer for space technology, will provide an overview of the agency’s $575 million Space Technology Mission Directorate portfolio of investments and the successful strategies the agency employs to publicize this important work. He will give insight into NASA’s strategy of themed messaging communications and the challenge of disseminating to the widest possible audience NASA’s work in advanced space technology research and development. Topics will include NASA’s overall communications infrastructure; the agency’s use of social media for amplification, public engagement and outreach; and effective message framing during times of political change and budgetary uncertainty.
