EOL's organizational structure is designed to optimize our deployment, support, and development of these observational facilities. The Laboratory consists of five organizational Facilities. Our Research Aviation Facility (RAF), In-situ Sensing Facility (ISF), and Remote Sensing Facility (RSF) operate and support our aircraft, airborne instrumentation, and ground-based platforms and instrumentation. The Data Management and Services (DMS) group provides labwide data services, computing and software engineering support and development and the Design and Fabrication Services (DFS) group provides instrument design and fabrication support not only for EOL, but for other groups in NCAR as well as the university community.

The Project Management Office (PMO), which is part of the EOL Directorate provides project management and operations support for field campaigns and major development projects. Each of the Facilities is led by a Facility Manager who reports directly to the EOL Director. The EOL Administrative staff provide a wide range of lab-wide administrative support functions.

EOL's foundation lies in providing excellent, efficient service to the atmospheric research community, attracting and maintaining motivated and top-level employees, and setting an example with regard to our commitment to diversity, professional development, and community involvement. EOL's staff are the backbone of the support we are able to provide to the university community, and are as important and valuable to that community as the physical LAOF we deploy.
