Dr. Holger Voemel | Scientist III

Dr. Holger Voemel joined EOL as a Scientist III in early November 2014, filling a vacancy left by June Wang's departure. Holger comes from the Meteorological Observatory in Lindenberg, Germany where is has been Head of the GRUAN Lead Center. Before taking over at the GRUAN Lead Center, Holger was a research scientist at the University of Colorado for many years. In his work there he has made excellent contributions to understanding uncertainties of radiosondes and other in-situ measurements, and developed novel techniques for in-situ sounding systems. His past work also includes making difficult measurements of stratospheric water vapor and ozone. His expertise is an excellent fit for ISF's current needs and potential future directions in atmospheric sounding measurement.
