University of Wyoming King Air
Visit two research aircraft - the NSF/NCAR C-130 and the University of Wyoming King Air - that are involved in a study to better understand the chemistry of wildfire smoke. These “flying laboratories” will be based in Boise from 22 July - 31 August 2018 and will conduct research flights between 1,000 and 28,000 feet. The aircraft are fully equipped with a suite of instruments to measure aerosols, chemistry, and cloud microphysics as well as scientists on-board to operate the sensors.
Media will have the opportunity to:
» Get on board and take pictures and video of the research aircraft.
» Learn about the significance of this reasearch on the environment and human health.
» Interview mission scientists, engineers, and other project staff.
For safety reasons, please wear closed-toe shoes.
