Discovery

EOL offers a wide array of unique educational and training opportunities that lie within the broad scope of its scientific activities and engineering capabilities. Imperative to EOL’s mission is attracting and inspiring the next generation of observational scientists and engineers. In partnership with the university community, EOL offers engineering and technical support internships, advanced science visitor programs, and workshops to encourage and support new users of the NSF Lower Atmosphere Observing Facilities (LAOF).

EOL routinely supports education and public outreach efforts during field campaigns to increase awareness and understanding of instrumentation used for observational science research; this includes involving undergraduate and graduate students, K-12 students, and the general public. EOL is committed to sustaining partnerships with the academic community to ensure needed resources are available to inspire and engage future observationalists.

EOL Research Publications

The ultimate measure of the importance of EOL efforts is the results of scientific research enabled by the data we make available to the broad scientific community.  Those results can be found in the subsequent publications.
