===== General Document somewhere how to switch the SCSI board between 1u boxes. Setup a cron which updates the web checkout and regenerates doxygen docs. ===== Control Preserve operator name and flight name between restarts, so that operator does not have to re-enter them every time. Warning windows should stay on top or otherwise always be easy to check. Rather than windows perhaps there should be a single window with several status indicators (like Pod Status Monitor) including laser on, tapes running, etc, and some other mechanism (audio?) for periodically calling attention to that window as long as a warning condition remains. Somehow automate move of the display window to the Display quadrant (dcop call to kwin?) Setup mozilla with default local page of sabl operating information (located within the source tree), including this items: Enabling minicom capture Debugging parameters and commands for vxworks terminal Description of the desktop icons and their function How to switch to other sabl installations (sablswitch) How to run the backup script Tips like shortcut keys to switch desktops, switch windows, move windows between desktops, and logout/shutdown. ===== vxworks Header files need to be reorganized and split out from massive include directory. Find out why enable_tx() and disable_tx() get called so many times. Add doxygen comments to header files, especially for the debugging interfaces. Put global debug functions and variables in their own 'debugging' doxygen group; examples there would also be good for cut-n-pasting commands into vx terminal: eg, iru_print_count = 10 ===== tapetocdf: Prompt for additional tapes when current set fills up. ===== SABL display: Need to put units on the display altitude scale, best to have both ft and km, and whether it's agl or msl. get sabl display to start out on low altitudes, or to start out on the current altitude, or even to automatically track the plane... can the time interval of the plot be changed? perhaps allow increasing by integral multiples and averaging at least? It looks like there's a configuration option but I haven't tried it. What if tapetocdf could tap into data stream on plane and produce netcdf in realtime, from which idl code could produce cleaner and more flexible plots in realtime? At the very least there would be disk-based backups. Change x axis from time to distance? Would that be useful to scientists? Or at least put the distance scale on the plot given the current average speed. How hard to keep the x axis increment constant in time and/or space, so that gaps in time and space because of problems or restart are readily apparent?
