S-Pol Data Users' Guide: Introduction

PRECIP98 (also called TEFLUN-B by NASA) was an experiment in the Melborne, FL area. The corresponding Principal Investigator for the S-Pol component is Dr. Edward Brandes, NCAR Research Applications Program. Many other investigators were involved with this program. The S-Pol component of PRECIP98 was sponsored by the U.S. National Science Foundation.

This summary deals with use of NCAR's S-Pol radar, including periods of operation, status of data processing, summary information available, and issues concerning data quality.
