SYNOPSIS FOR 05/13/94 - VORTEX-94
Upper low finally moved out, and by 00Z was over the TX panhandle. S to SE
flow increased at low levels, but recovery of the airmass was delayed by strong,
deep convection that lit up across southern TX and choked off the return flow of
gulf moisture. Cirrus from this activity spread northward through central/eastern
TX into OK. By afternoon a dry line of sorts developed over west TX, with storms
going up along and just E of it through the panhandle and south plains of
northwest TX. However these storms did not amount to much. VORTEX teams
deployed to the Altus, OK- Childress, TX area.
