June 1 (Bow-shaped storm near Marysville, KS)
Synopsis:
Warm front across KS/NE border down to the TOP area. Storms formed
just N of
the surface warm front position. They quickly produced vigorous gust
fronts, which then
became the focus for later updraft development. The bow-shaped arcus and
updraft region was
situated below a TVS aloft, but no significant rotation was observed at
cloud base.
Intercept:
We collected data on two of the initial, short-lived storms. We also
collected data
on the storm near Marysville, when it was bow-shaped with a TVS on radar
near the middle of
the bow.

of M-CLASS soundings from various parts of the storm, and in the inflow
both north and
south of the warm front.
Numerous P-3 radar volumes.
