OHHI National Advisory Panel
The OHH Act authorizes the Secretary of Commerce to establish an oceans and human health advisory panel (AP) to assist in the development and implementation of the NOAA OHHI. A Federal Register Notice (FRN) was posted on September 5, 2005 which announced the opportunity to nominate individuals to the new OHHI Advisory Panel. The AP is organized to provide for balanced representation of individuals with multi-disciplinary expertise in the marine and biomedical sciences. As stated in the FRN, the AP shall not exceed 15 members who are appointed for three-year terms, renewable once, and who serve at the discretion of the NOAA Assistant Administrator for Ocean Services and Coastal Zone Management. The AP is not subject to the Federal Advisory Committee Act. The panel is expected to meet twice yearly.

Further information about the Advisory Panel is available here.

The panel has had meetings on 7-8 September 2006 in Washington, DC and 8-9 March 2007 in Seattle, WA (Federal Register Announcement. The next meeting will be 19-20 November 2007 in Washington, DC.)
