Submitting Data to the JOSS Archive

When submitting files, include documentation (such as a Readme text file) that provides details of the file's content. Completed files can be submitted to JOSS using FTP software and the following procedure:

ftp: ftp.joss.ucar.edu

login: anonymous

password: email address (use your e-mail address)

cd: pub/incoming/itex

binary: bin

Move file: put filename

Move documentation: put (documentation) filename

List Directory Contents: ls

Quit: quit

Notify: e-mail gstoss@ucar.edu and jmoore@ucar.edu to tell them you've uploaded your files and what the filenames are.

Other important instructions:

If the file will be larger than 120 MB, please email jmoore@ucar.edu and gstoss@ucar.edu BEFORE sending the file. Once the file is sent please e-mail jmoore@ucar.edu and gstoss@ucar.edu to alert them of the file arrival and name.
