Milestone: 5 May 2005: First backscatter depolarization ratio
measurements with REAL. These results show total return power
(top) and depolarization ratio (bottom) while pointing vertical
over a 15 minute period. During this time (16:06 to 16:09), it
appears that virga descended from cloud base located at 1.5 km
AGL. Interpretation of these first results and application of
this new capability to scanning is still underway.
