Jody Williams Systems Administrator

Background

I have worked at NCAR since 1994. I recently joined the ATD Research Data Program in January 2003. Before that, I worked in the MMM division. I'm a System Administrator Level II and work mainly on Windows 2000 Active Directory and Solaris systems.
I received my BS in Computer Science/Mathematics from the University of Illinois in 1991.

Current Projects

Deploy software to Windows PC via Group Policy
- Currently evaluating AdminStudio by InstallShield
- Tesing some ideas re: deploying using a dns alias
Active Directory Migration: ATD has been slowly migrating to Active Directory since Jan. 2003.
Documentation: I want to update the documentation for both users and system administrators in ATD. These are just some documentation notes.

Professional Highlights

Jody participated on the Active Directory Taskforce that deployed Windows 2000 throughout the organization. The CIT Windows 2000 Domain went live in January 2002 and MMM was the first division to join. Jody has developed an Windows 2000 Operations Guide and a Windows 2000 Computing Guide, both are specific to MMM. She has also given many Presentations regarding this domain. Currently, she is assisting ATD in joining the CIT Domain as well.
She is a member of the Desktop Systems Advisory Committee, and the Computing Professionals at UCAR (CPU).
Jody has written the VPN documentation for UCAR.
