Information on the September 2007 NSF Facilities Assessment Workshop
NSF Facilities Assessment
The NSF Facilities Assessment is charged with reviewing atmospheric science instrumentation across the community. It will look at facilities across government agencies, universities, national laboratories, international organizations, and private companies, and will include systems under development.
The NSF Facilities Assessment community workshop will be held on September 27-28, 2007, immediately following the NSF Facilities Users' Workshop (NSFUW). At this Facilities Assessment Workshop (FAW), Assessment subcommittee co-chairs will lead sessions and present information contained in the Assessment database entries (http://www.eol.ucar.edu/fadb/). The discussions will focus on what are unmet measurement capability needs, based on what was heard at the NSFUW and questionnaire results. Breakout groups will each develop a report to deliver to the Assessment Workshop in the plenary session. Participants in the NSFUW are encouraged to consider staying for the Assessment workshop. The draft agenda for the FAW is available below in pdf form; this will be updated periodically as the date grows closer. Questions about the FAW should be directed to faw@eol.ucar.edu.
