ATD is responding to NCAR’s commitment to develop a
new, 10-year, strategic plan for both observational and computation
facilities. As part of our strategic facilities planning process,
two internal advisory groups– the Scientific Advisory Group
(SAC) and the Technical Advisory Group (TAC) will provide input on
ATD’s future developments and directions. Additionally, an
external advisory committee (EAC) has been established to review
the subsequent plan at an early stage.
This site will provide ATD staff access to the materials,
discussions and presentations taking place during the planning process.
The site also provides links to the NCAR and NSF strategic plans,
the NCAR Initiatives, and selected community planning documents that
will help shape the final plan.
A message from Rit Carbone:
Dear ATD Staff,
The subject of this message is to define a 3-phase process that
will lead to the development of our Facilities Strategic Plan (FSP).
The FSP will define our focus for the next several years and establish
the basis for future resource allocation. It is imperative for us
to develop the best plan possible as part of the broader NCAR Facilities
Strategic Plan, which includes observing, computing and community
model facilities. (more...)
