The Technology Development Facility (TDF) is to identify, foster, implement, and help manage, the development of advanced technologies leading to an improved understanding of the earth system. These technologies include, Optical Sensing (both in situ and remote); Radio Sensing, in situ Sensing and Profiling (airborne and ground-based), Flight Level Sensing, and Advances in Data Acquisition and Processing.
The Design and Fabrication Services (DFS) provides specialized mechanical equipment and component fabrication for scientists and engineers in development and operations of field program activities. Products range from heavy parts for radar pedestals to tapered aircraft inlets to light-weight precise optical mountings for aircraft or satellite instruments.
