The scientific objective of the TORERO project is to study the release and transport of halogenated gases and oxidized VOCs in the Eastern Tropical Pacific during the season of the high biologic productivity. The project timeframe is coincident with a proposed complementary research vessel project in the same area.
The project would utilize the GV aircraft to fly at several altitudes collecting remote sensing and in situ data. The GV would be located in San José, Costa Rica with a forward deployment to Antofagasta, central Chile, returning to the base in Costa Rica after three research flights.
123 research flight hours, 20 ferry hours and 10 test flight hours have been allocated on the GV to TORERO.
