HeNe pattern The Analytical Photonics & Optoelectronics Laboratory (APOL) group develops and employs new advanced optical spectroscopic technologies, instruments, and advanced algorithms for the next generation of ground-based and airborne measurements of various atmospheric trace gases. Working with atmospheric modelers, the APOL group also utilizes the high quality data thus obtained to further advance our understanding of atmospheric processes and chemical transformations.
