Field Projects

The main function of RAF is to support airborne field projects. In the table below you can find a list of recent projects that involved NCAR airplanes. Information about older projects is available also.

Researchers from universities have the ability to request the use of NCAR airplanes for environmental research. Generally, the request process is simple: contact EOL to inquire about availability of aircraft and notify EOL of your desire to request an aircraft; submit project description and request forms; submit a research proposal to the NSF. If your proposal is approved you will receive the use of NCAR aircraft funded by the NSF. For compelte details about requesting the use or aircraft please visit the EOL Facility Request area.
