What We Do

The Software Systems Group (SSG) designs, develops and supports the primary software components of EOL observing systems.

We provide engineering services to the other EOL groups, working as team members on many EOL projects. The SSG is typically contributing to half a dozen projects at any time. The sharing of expertise across the SSG allows us to progress simultaneously on multiple projects.

Who We Are

The Software Systems Group is composed of eleven software engineers. These individuals contribute expertise in a wide variety of software technologies. Real-time data acquisition, signal processing, gate array embedded  processing, operating system development, web technologies, data base application, graphics and visualization, inter-networking and data communications, and scientific applications programming are routinely employed in SSG projects.

Software Help Center

Many of the software tools developed for EOL observing system operation and data post processing are made available to all users, and can be obtained from the Software Help Center.  Note that the Help Center contains entries for only a small subset of SSG packages.
